THIRTY YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY
HISTORY
30 YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY
In 1979, after spending 19 years as General Manager, manufacturing Large Transformers for Ontario Hydro, Locomotive Cabs and Fuel Cells for General Electric the daily commute to Mississauga came to an end. Ernest J. Murray opened his own custom fabrication business in Innisfil in a 1500 sq/ft work shop located on the family farm.

In 1984 Brett joined his father and continued the push to grow their family business. Together they negotiated their First large contract in 1985 with Sidbec-Dosco for 800 Wire De-Reelers. In the fall of that same year they moved to Barrie and into a 4500 sq/ft shop. Within two years, larger and complex projects were being negotiated initiating another move. In 1987 a 11,000 sq/ft facility was erected in Innisfil to accommodate their ever-growing custom fabrication needs.

The 1990's began with the manufacturing of Ore Sampling and Processing Equipment followed with Waste Water Clarifying and Thickening Packages. Over the next 14 years, the facility increased to 23,000 sq/ft as well as a leased facility for coating and linings. JEBCO was now a full service custom fabricator including finishing.

Brett was appointed CEO in 2004. Recognizing the manufacturing commonalities in Mining, Petro Chemical and Waste Water Treatment he aggressively executed a business plan targeting these three markets.

Again, JEBCO's ever growing business, created the demand for additional manufacturing space and In August of 2008 JEBCO moved into their current home. JEBCO now operates in a climate controlled 100,000 sq/ft manufacturing facility at 111 Ellis Drive, Barrie, Ontario.

Today JEBCO continues to expand into their primary markets of Mining, Petro Chemical and Waste Water Treatment now also encompassing Packaged Equipment.

Brett with his father, Ernie, by his side continues to look for new growth opportunities while fostering a strong team of professionals and leaders in the firm.
